An Update from Richard Criley ‘62

"I put out the 55th edition of the Morrill Chapter Class of 1962 newsletter this fall, which you can view HERE. In September, the World Acrobatics Society inducted me into their Gallery of Legends for my contributions over 25 years to the sport of Sports Acrobatics.  In a way, that also recognized my contributions to gymnastics which I began as a Penn State gymnast.

I was inducted into the Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1984 (contributions) and Sports Acrobatics Hall of Fame in 2000 (contributions). Both of these latter are merged in the Gymnastics Hall of Fame now overseen by USA Gymnastics.  While these honors are not directly related to my career as a professor of horticulture, they do reflect on the leadership skills I began to develop while a member of the Morrill Chapter of Alpha Zeta.  Incidentally, the Waikiki Acrobatic Troupe of which I was an original founder celebrated its 43rd year of activities in 2017; I'm the only active one left of the original group.

Since our class did not get together this year to celebrate 55 years since graduating, Frank Resides (who was our Chancellor) has proposed a get-together in mid-August for some sort of Ag Days at Penn State.  I may try to get back for that."
